Spelthorne Labour is working hard for you. Our borough and county councillors are making a positive difference in their communities

Labour is the only party in Spelthorne that can beat the Tories at the next general election

What are Labour’s first steps for change?

  1. Deliver economic stability with tough spending rules, so we can grow our economy and keep taxes, inflation and mortgages as low as possible.

  2. Cut NHS waiting times with 40,000 more evening and weekend appointments each week, paid for by cracking down on tax avoidance and non-doms.

  3. Launch a new Border Security Command with hundreds of new specialist investigators and counter-terror powers to smash criminal gangs and strengthen our borders.

  4. Set up Great British Energy, a publicly-owned clean power company, to cut bills for good and boost energy security, paid for by a windfall tax on oil and gas giants.

  5. Crack down on antisocial behaviour, with more neighbourhood police paid for by ending wasteful contracts, tough new penalties for offenders, and a new network of youth hubs.

  6. Recruit 6,500 new teachers in key subjects to set children up for life, work and the future, paid for by ending tax breaks for private schools

Vote Kate Chinn for Police and Crime Commissioner

Vote Labour on 2nd May

Dear Residents

The elections for Surrey's new Police and Crime Commissioner are on 2 May this year.

In Surrey, the confidence in the police service is at an all-time low. By their own admission less than one in five 999 calls get a response from Surrey police!

Despite claiming to have more police officers than ever before it seems too many of them stay indoors, instead of getting out on our streets fighting anti social behaviour and other crimes.

As Police and Crime Commissioner, your priorities will be my priorities. Together we can make Surrey safer and a better place in which to live.

Cllr Kate Chinn

Spelthorne needs a Labour MP

The local Conservative MP Kwasi Kwarteng takes the voters for granted. He is rarely seen in the constituency, and has never lived in Spelthorne. On the doorstep we hear many complaints about him, even from lifelong Conservative voters.

While the people of Spelthorne were already struggling with the cost of living crisis, Kwarteng’s mini-budget forced interest rates sky high, so mortgage holders are now hunderds of pounds worse off thanks to the disastrous Tories.

Only Labour can oust Kwarteng at the next General Election. Join the party now to help us in the General Election.

What we are doing in our community

Putting residents first

Labour councillors champion local issues and make sure your views are really heard. We work with the police to stamp out antisocial behaviour in your area. We support local families, and are long time supporters of the Truth About Zane campaign.

Housing

With more than 3000 families on the housing waiting list, we need more affordable and social housing to help local families. This is a top priority for Labour councillors.

Safer local streets

Working with Surrey Police and the County Council, Labour councillors work to prevent crime, tackle violence against women and girls. We are also addressing the menace of fly-tipping and littering.

A greener Spelthorne

Labour is working with other parties to get to carbon neutral as soon as possible, boosting energy security for a greener, cleaner borough.

Let’s build a better Spelthorne

Stronger together, every step of the way.
